ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER:

Stephen Borko has been developing his photographic vision over four decades as a collector and enthusiast of the visual arts and as an initially casual photographer. Beginning in 2004 his photographs have been exhibited in nationally juried shows, private collections, art fairs, and galleries. His photographs reflect his view of landscapes on and off the beaten path, people who reside in these places, and man-made additions to these landscapes.

Steve’s photographs have been presented in nationally juried shows at the Circle Gallery in Annapolis, MD and the City Gallery in Baltimore, MD; in the private collection of the law firm of Covington and Burling in Washington, DC; at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center-Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore, MD; at Colonial Players Theater in Annapolis, MD; at Centerstage in Baltimore, MD; at the Ellipse Arts Center in Arlington, VA, and at the Mclean Project for the Arts Artfest in McLean Virginia. He was one of sixteen photographers chosen for the exhibit Is Photography Dead? at the Sandy Spring Museum in Sandy Spring, MD. His photographs are featured on the Artline Plus Mid-Atlantic web site, the Ward-Nasse Gallery web site and the Washington Project for the Arts Artfile Online web site. He is an artist member of the Ward-Nasse Gallery in Soho, NY.

Steve is a native Washingtonian who has worked professionally for more than forty two years in nonprofit organizations located in DC, and who owned a wine sales and consulting business for more than twenty years. He has actively supported a number of volunteer organizations including the Maryland Federation of Art, for whom he serves as First Vice President of the Board of Directors, the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF) for whom he served as Board Chair of the National Capital Chapter and The Vivaldi Project, a period instrument chamber ensemble on whose board he also served.

Steve’s high resolution pigment photographs are printed by David Adamson Editions in Washington, DC.
